A Large-Scale Model of Lateral Pressure on a Buried Pipeline in Medium Dense Sand

چکیده
Modern countries utilise buried pipelines for the long-distance transportation of water, oil, and gas due to their efficiency continuity delivery receiving locations. Due soil movements such as landslides, excessive earth pressure imposed on causes damage and, consequently, leaking liquids, gases or other harmful effluents into soil, groundwater, atmosphere. By using a large-scale physical model, lateral pipeline–soil interaction in sandy was researched. This study investigated stress distribution pipe induced by displacement. The external forces caused surrounding motion were measured cells installed active zone along pipeline. Additionally, visual inspection ground deformation patterns surface, including tensile cracks, above shallow-buried pipeline subjected movement reported. results revealed that has potency effect pipelines. findings also indicated highest stresses occur at unstable boundaries prior reaching soil’s peak strength. After observing surface’s rupture, most increments concentrated middle section pipe.

the pile-raft foundation is a combination of a raft foundation with piles. pile-raft foundation has been widely designed, assuming all structure loads to be transferred to piles without considering contribution of the load taken by contact surface between raft and soil. methods of analysis currently used in practice are based upon relatively conservative assumptions of soil behavior or on the l...
متن کاملa study on insurer solvency by panel data model: the case of iranian insurance market
the aim of this thesis is an approach for assessing insurer’s solvency for iranian insurance companies. we use of economic data with both time series and cross-sectional variation, thus by using the panel data model will survey the insurer solvency.
A Practical Desalinization Model for Large Scale Application
Salinity of soil and water is the most important agricultural hazard in arid and semi-aridregions. In saline soils, yield production directly influences by soluble salts in the root zone aswell as by shallow water table depth. The first step for reclamation of such soils is reducingsalinity to optimum level by leaching. The objective of this study was to develop a practicalmodel to estimate wat...
